Screened before it's published

Everything is screened before it publishes. Screening catches a lot, but not everything, which is why everything below exists too.

Two taps to report

Any post, comment, message or conversation request can be reported in two taps. The report goes straight to the safety team with the context they need. Reports about self-harm go to the front of the queue.

Blocking is instant

Block anyone, any time, and it takes effect straight away. It works both ways: once you've blocked someone, the two of you stop seeing each other.

Real people review reports

Human moderators review what's reported. They can remove content, limit its reach, restrict an account or suspend it. Every decision is recorded. Other people never see who you are, but Sotto keeps a private internal account so breaking the rules has consequences, even here.

Private conversations only by consent

A private conversation can only be requested from a post. The author chooses Accept or Ignore, and the person asking is never told which. There's no directory and no random matching. Pressure, sexual advances and repeated unwanted contact are grounds for losing messaging or an account.

Sotto is for people aged 18 and over. Read the full Community Guidelines for what's allowed and what isn't.

Not a crisis service

Struggling is welcome here. But Sotto can't monitor, locate or help anyone in an emergency. The app keeps support resources one tap away, and they're here too.
